When it comes to Apple (AAPL) it’s pretty hard to make a bear case based on fundamentals. Sure, the company could be better positioned in the relatively faster growing international markets, there’s the question of CEO Steve Jobs’s health and it might be hard for the company to continue to top its own high standards. But that’s about it.

No, I didn’t get an iPhone. But I did get an iPod Touch over Thanksgiving weekend. (Hurray for Amazon matching Apple Store Black Friday prices!) I know, I know, as a financial blogger I’m supposed to shun such trendy toys, but it was a gift! The number of bankruptcy filings in the third quarter of 2009 reached their highest point since 2005, and soared 33% above the total from the previous year, according to statistics from the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Consumer and business bankruptcies filed between August and October reached 388,485 compared to 292,291 for Q3 2008.
